Raven Hill Animated

An Immersive Art Projection Mapping Experience

Raven HIll Animated was a collaborative Immersive Installation for Thomas Jefferson University’s Industrial Design program, and their Animation program. The project Co-Lead by industry expert in lighting design research and industrial art, Lyn Godley, featured projection mapping in the historic Raven HIll Chapel, located in the historic Germantown section of Philadelphia.

The genesis for the project was research into medical imaging, proton therapy, art as a healing experience, and what that means for the future of medicine. Based on this theme, students were tasked with concepting and creating animations and digital artwork that reflected this future forward perspective. Then, through the use of high definition projectors, and projection mapping software, the chapel was reimagined for one night luminous.

The Immersive installation was open to the public, and received positive response and feedback. The event was documented in 360 using a Theta S 360 camera.
